Empathetic Chatbot

Although there are now multiple applications of AI in various sectors, the debate on ethics and the fear that artificial intelligence could somehow replace humans is still alive. A much discussed use case is the use of Chatbot. We propose a positivist view of the use of a new type of virtual assistant, the Empathetic Chatbot. Chatbots are normally perceived as distant, impersonal, and sometimes irritating. An emotionally adaptive chatbot can conquer user's trust, changing adaptively the way it interacts with people basing on their characteristics, detecting the urgency of their requests, smoothening the tone of conversation.
