Decentralised blockchain systems are said to be beyond regulation. Enthusiasts often chant 'code is law', implying that rules of immutable code should govern the system – even if the code has a bug. On the other hand, legal professionals and academics often claim that nothing is beyond the law, and that such systems need to be abide be regulation where necessary. This talk will delve into the two polar opposites, code and law, and demonstrate that two may provide solutions to their opposite's woes.
