The current trajectory of AI is increasingly unsustainable --  the growing computational demands of AI systems carry significant environmental impacts, the deployment of AI can reinforce and amplify existing inequities, and the escalating costs of developing and maintaining large-scale AI models raise concerns about long-term viability and equitable access.
